As a HUD-approved agency for Florida, we provide foreclosure prevention counseling, pre-purchase counseling, homebuyer education workshops, mortgage scam assistance and predatory lending education.
Our comprehensive homebuyer education workshops and pre-purchase counseling sessions are designed to educate and empower consumers. We help them evaluate where they are in the homeownership process and guide them through the necessary steps in achieving their dream. We help them understand how much home they can afford, as well as how to identify predatory lending practices.
We have worked closely with property developers, builders and banks to prepare a new generation of informed, responsible homeowners. Students in our program learn how to improve their mortgage-worthiness, how to recognize and refuse predatory lending schemes, and how to understand the financial responsibilities, consequences and rewards of homeownership.
Our foreclosure prevention housing counselors are available to help consumers deal with underwater and unaffordable mortgages. Many times we are able to contact the lender on their behalf to secure mutually acceptable repayment options. When not possible, we counsel homeowners on how to transition out of their home with dignity.
